IMudindivhathu “Mudi” Ratshikombo started Ndima Farms in 2017 with one goal: to grow food that feeds his community. His farm supplies fresh produce to vendors and markets across Johannesburg and nearby townships. But while his business was growing, one key limitation stood in the way.

Mudi relied on a petrol-powered generator to pump water from his borehole. It was expensive to run and couldn’t guarantee a consistent water supply, especially during peak growing seasons. This created the risk of unpredictable yields, high fuel costs, and limited ability to meet demand.

Today, Ndima Farms is thriving. With a stable irrigation system and lower operating costs, Mudi has increased his output, grown healthier crops, and expanded his reach in the local food economy.
