FAQs
From pre-qualification through document upload to a funding decision: what each step means, what we need from you, and what to do if something's outstanding.
Pre-qualification FAQs
Your business plans don't need to fit neatly into a product category before you speak to us.
Mutualism helps you explore suitable funding through a network of funding partners. We help prepare and present your application, approach relevant funders on your behalf and guide you through any offers that result. The funding partner makes the funding decision and provides any approved finance.
The solutions available through our network can evolve, so start by explaining what your business needs. Where more than one suitable offer is available, we can help you compare your options.

How an application progresses
These steps explain how an application may progress. They do not guarantee that every application will reach an offer or receive funding.
We use your initial details to understand whether your business and funding requirement may be suitable to progress.
You provide the requested business and financial information, with help available for missing or unclear requirements.
Mutualism reviews the information, assesses the requirement and clarifies any gaps.
Goal: around 1–2 business days from full document submission
We identify suitable routes and potential funders within our network.
Relevant funding partners assess the proposed funding. We help coordinate questions, additional documents or a site visit where needed.
Estimate: around 1–5 business days after your document package is verified
If funding is available, you receive the relevant offer and agreements to review. Where multiple offers are available, you can compare them before deciding.
Following acceptance, the remaining agreements, checks and funding conditions must be completed.
Funding has been released in accordance with the agreed funding arrangement.
Document-submission FAQs
Your documents give us the supporting picture behind your funding request. Start with the records you have, and let us know about anything you need help obtaining.
Outstanding-document FAQs
A missing document doesn't always mean you haven't started. You may be waiting for someone, unsure what has been requested or having trouble with the upload.
Tell us what's holding you up so we can help with the right problem.
Still stuck?
