Founded for South African business owners.

When traditional finance falls short, viable businesses get left behind. Mutualism was founded in 2019 to change that.

We started by supporting business owners in underserved areas where access to finance was often hardest to find. Today, we help a broader network of registered, trading South African businesses, from owner-managed businesses to established companies ready to scale, access funding through the banks, private credit funds and specialist lenders on our panel.

Our goal remains the same: to make business funding in South Africa more accessible, more flexible, and more supportive. We help connect local businesses with funding tailored to their needs, so they can move forward and thrive.

Beyond finance, our work is driving job creation and supporting long-term stability in communities across the country. We imagine a South Africa where every viable business, no matter where it starts, has a fair shot at success.
