In 2014, Mohapi Tracey Macdonald and her sons had a vision to create a working nursery and educational space that taught sustainable farming. This vision motivated the founding of Interlude Hydroponics, a hands-on, family-run farm where children and adults could learn about eco-friendly food production.

But turning a vision into a working business takes more than passion. It takes capital.

Water. In traditional farming, you can’t grow without it, and you can’t save it. Tracey sought a more efficient method for growing crops while significantly reducing water usage. The goal: keep the farm sustainable, both environmentally and financially.
