Cikizwa is a female entrepreneur from the Western Cape who studied entrepreneurship at the University of America. After finishing her studies, she had a passion for cooking and established CIKI GRACELAND CAFÉin 2017. Ciki specializes in South African cuisine and has grown her business selling at the V&A Waterfront Mall.
Problem - Why they needed an asset?
Ciki used to cook food at home and drive to the mall to sell the food from the back of her bakkie. The work to pack the food in heating containers and transport it from her home was adding significant time and costs to her business. These extra costs meant less money for her and higher prices for her customers. As the business has grown, employees of the mallhave started to askCiki to set up a stall on the premises so that her food could be more easily accessed.
Outcome
Ciki reached out to Mutualism to purchase a food trailerso that she could sell her food at the mall without having to worry about preparation and delivery from another location. She is now able to better service clients at the Waterfront as well as cater special events she gets booked to do.
